Vans

On March 16, 1966 Vans opened for business. Founder Paul Van Doren opened the doors to the first Vans store in Anaheim, California with a unique approach to manufacturing shoes, and selling them direct to the public. On that first morning, 12 customers walked through the door and purchased shoes for pick up that afternoon. The Vans #44 deck shoe (now known as the Authentic) was born.

Dr. Martens

In the late 1950s an unlikely union of two kindred sprits in distinctly different countries ignited a phenomenon that would create a counter culture around the world. In Munich, Germany Dr Maertens had a garage full of inventions including a shoe sole almost literally made of air; in Northampton, England the Griggs family had a history of making quality footwear and their heads were full of ideas. They met through an advert in the classifieds – a marriage born, an icon conceived of innovation and self-expression.

Teva

Founded in 1984, Teva® began with an unassuming Grand Canyon River Guide and an idea that would become the world's very first sports sandal.

The first pairs of Teva® footwear were sold out of a van to friends and fellow boaters at the various put-ins along the river. Coupling the freedom of a flip-flop with the security of an ankle strap, the "Original" was an instant hit and quickly became the shoe of choice within the guide community. As a commitment to our heritage on the Grand Canyon, you can still find styles like the Original, the Ultimate Thong and the Universal Buckle within the Teva® collection today.

Simple

In 1991 Simple Shoes was born as a reaction to all the over-hyped, over marketed, and over-teched sneakers out there. In 2004 Simple Shoes had an epiphany – when it comes to being planet friendly in the footwear industry the status quo is crap. Nobody plays nice with Mother Nature, if we’re going to change the world, shouldn’t we start with ourselves?
